Origin of NAME

Baker's dozen is a Japanese translation of a baker's dozen.

In the past, when rumors circulated in England that bakers were fudging the weight of their bread, a law called the "Bread and Beer Standards Act" was enacted as a heavy penalty for bakers who falsified the weight of their bread,

The Bread and Beer Standards Act was enacted as a heavy penalty for bakers who misrepresented the weight of their bread.

However, it is difficult to bake bread at exactly the same weight every time, and the weight of freshly baked bread is different from that of bread that has been baked for a long time due to evaporation of water.

In the first place, the weight of freshly baked bread may change due to evaporation of water.

So, a bakery, in fear of heavy penalties, offered one extra loaf to a customer who purchased a dozen (12 loaves),

The bakery, fearing heavy penalties, would sell one extra loaf to a customer who purchased a dozen (12 loaves), and then sell 13 loaves to prevent weight errors and the weight of the loaves becoming lighter only due to the evaporation of water after baking time.

The bakery is now able to prevent weight errors and the weight of evaporated water from becoming lighter over time after baking.

The baker would always remember to keep one extra piece for every dozen (12 pieces) ordered.

This is the origin of the term baker's dozen.

The story is based on a 13th century English law,

Now, the term baker's dozen has come to mean a little extra, a little more.

We hope to provide our customers with more satisfaction than they have ordered!

We named it "Baker's Dozen" to express our enthusiasm for providing customers with even more satisfaction than they had ordered.
